SVOSH 2015 – Merida Part 3

The first clinic day saw for a fairly light load, which I think was a blessing in disguise. The group is a wonderful mix of personalities and skill levels, so trying to find a balance of workload in the clinic was somewhat of a challenge.

But never fear- it all worked out in the end. Let’s hope for a lot more people today!! The local Clube de Leones passed out tickets for exams and hardly none of those persons showed up. Wednesday and Thursday is in a different area of the city that typically has a heavier patient load.

And let me tell you about the food!! It’s amazing. Just go ahead and be jealous that we are getting the royal treatment. 😄

But my favorite part so far, admittedly, was not in clinic… aside from the woman who grabbed me, hugged me, and kissed me on the cheek… it was when I got to make some tortillas!     It’s been a ton of fun and I am so excited that I get to serve these people and also the students who are really excited to learn!
